Steve Creech, President, CEO of the Wyland Foundation

Steve Creech Wyland Foundation

Steve Creech has collaborated with Wyland for over 20 years, blending their unique talents to drive the Wyland Foundation’s vision. As President and CEO, Steve is responsible for the foundation’s overall strategy and development, including flagship initiatives like the National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation, Streams of Hope, Public Art Projects, and the Wyland Clean Water Mobile Learning Experience. With a background as an environmental journalist, Steve complements Wyland’s artistic voice by crafting impactful stories that inspire action. He is the co-author with Wyland of Hold Your Water: 68 Things You Need to Know to Keep Our Planet Blue, and co-producer of Wyland: A Brush with Giants for Discovery’s Animal Planet. Together, they have expanded the foundation’s global reach through partnerships with the U.S. Olympic Team, Toyota, and the U.N. Environment Programme, creating lasting change for future generations.

The Wyland Walls Around the World
Keeping our oceans front an center saves our planet.

One of the foundation’s most iconic initiatives is the Wyland Whaling Walls. These are large-scale public murals that depict various marine life, painted by Wyland himself. These murals are found on the sides of buildings such as skyscrapers and sports arenas around the world. The Whaling Walls serve as a visual reminder of the beauty of marine life and the importance of conservation. They have been instrumental in inspiring people globally to care for the environment (Wyland Foundation) (Wyland Foundation).
